Hair removal? Anyone use an epilator? Usually wax but am thinking about buying an epilator? Any advice?

Should i stay with waxing or go for the epilator?Hair removal? Anyone use an epilator? Usually wax but am thinking about buying an epilator? Any advice?
I say you stay with waxing .. a lot less painful and very quick .. epilators are torture .. leave my skin red and stinging ..Hair removal? Anyone use an epilator? Usually wax but am thinking about buying an epilator? Any advice?
hi, there i think u shud stay with waxing only as its best and u never get any type of side effects with it

but i not sure tht for wat body part r u asking if cn mention go for it then it ll bmore easy to tell u .........
As someone whos used all methods of hair removal, i'd highly recommend you'd stick with waxing. Even if you think your pain threshold is high, epilating really hurts to the point it's ineffective because you simply cant bring yourself to continue with it. And it gives similar results to waxing anyway-same amount of 'grab' on shorter hairs.
Hi

I just buy epilator and believe it is very horrible

I have pen using epilator and also some rashes

my skin is sensitive but I feel epilatoe is not good

idea use wax or hair remove cream

Personal experience

I hope this help U

Good Luck!!!

Can anyone give advice about baby momma drama?

Im with this guy who has 3 kids by a woman. He took care of the kids while she was in the hospital. She has no car and he was going to be the one to give her a ride home once she got out. He had her cell phone so she can call him because his didnt work and she needed a way to call to check on the kids and call when she was ready to be released. She said it was okay that he used her cell phone to call me. I told him to erase my number out of her phone once he gave her the phone back and he did but he left my number in the outcoming calls and now she has my number. She takes it upon herself to call my phone looking for him and telling me hes cheating. She twists my words and goes back and tells him that i say stuff that wasnt meant the way she tells it. He believes alot of the stuff she says even though he knows shes a liar. I asked him to tell her not to call my phone. Its causing conflict within our relationship. I dont feel that hes cheating on me and i know he cares. adviceCan anyone give advice about baby momma drama?
it sounds to me that she is jealous because she knows he is a good man because he did all that for her and they are not married and all he is obligated to do is take care of his kids. i would not worry too much about it. you should brush your shoulders off because if he believes what she is saying and he knows she is a liar, then who is really the fool here? Can anyone give advice about baby momma drama?
that's too much drama for me in the first place.......but anyways.........she's just trying to break you to up so she can have him to herself..........if you really trust this man and know he would never cheat and i mean REALLY TRUST HIM.............then just hold in there........sooner or later the truth will be exposed
change your number, it's a pain but sometimes it has to be done

do not talk to the lady when she calls

but know that he has to stay in contact with her for the kids

do like you were planning to do before she got your number
Refuse to engage in conversation wiht her. Dont pick up her call. Doesnt everyone have caller ID these days?
This is why you should never date a man with kids. Sounds like he's not taking care of the kids other than when she was in the hospital. If he was a man and really stepped up, there would be no drama. It also sounds like there are unresolved feelings between them. She didn't have ANY one else to pick up from the hospital. And he was willing to do it?? Sounds suspect to me. 9 times out of 10 he is still messing around with her. Just cut him loose. NEXT!

What to do? Advice about this?

Hey guys, I have a seasonal job (40 hour week) that ends October 31st, well I missed all last week due to finals week (im a student), and tomorrow I have a test with a local PD, but that would mean I would miss 6 total days. The job ends soon but I really wanna get on the PD but NOT lose my job as I'll probably get fired for this, the PD scheduled this test just on Saturday. What should I do??What to do? Advice about this?
You only have two options:

Call the Police Department and see if they can reschedule the test. Many larger agencies all have multiple dates for testing over a short period of time. Smaller agencies may not and if you miss your short to test, you have to wait months before you have another chance.

Or you can take the gamble on your job.

I don't really know what to tell you. However, being fired from your job doesn't look good when you are trying to get a police job. They want someone dependable, not someone that has been fired from another job for not showing up. A good excuse may minimize the damage, but it won't completely erase the black eye. What to do? Advice about this?
The best advice I can give is to pick your priorities. Which job is more important to you? You might want to find out when the PD will have testing again and the next date may work out better for you. If you get hired on with the PD, will this interfere with your current schooling? It's really all about priorities.
The police department give tests throughout the year; your job can fire you and never give you the job back.

Make your choice based on how much you need the money. If the police department is a good prospect for you and you believe you have what it takes, dump the job and start the process because it is a long one. There are several steps to go through as you probably know and they take your concentration.

But only you can make the decision, all we can do is give you advice, not make your mind up. So, if you need the money now, keep your job; if you don't take the test. It will take approximately six months to get hired on police department as you might be aware.

Good luck with your decision and I hope I helped!

EDIT: better yet, tell your job how important the test is and maybe they will understand no matter how much time you take. It may sound crazy but if they really care about you they will understand.

  • I need some advice about my neighbours, please?

I live next to the most awful couple. They're in their 80's %26amp; still fighting fit, but their very presence makes me feel oppressed. They've not wanted anything to do with my child and I (I'm a widow) since the day I moved here 35 years ago. In fact, they don't want anything to do with anyone in our neighbourhood. I've tried every which way I can to 'break the ice' between us, but they remain hostile. They don't answer the door to anyone. It's like living next to the invisible couple, in fact. Anyway, he (the husband) cannot keep his hands off our dustbin. He keeps looking inside it, and transferring his rubbish from his own into ours. I got so fed up that I wrote %26amp; told him to keep his hands off our property. He's the type of person who doesn't like anything that doesn't belong to him on his side of the property, %26amp; the bin men often leave our bin in his drive after collection. Yesterday, he kicked our bin to my side of the drive, just missing hitting my car. What can I do?I need some advice about my neighbours, please?
I disagree with some points that people are saying. I don't care how old you are everyone has the ability for common courtesy! If this was happening to any of the people that answered they would not be so darn tolerant! I do agree that you should call your local garbage company and tell them about your situation so they know not to put your can on their side of their driveway.

Maybe you can leave a note on top of the garbage bin. 1). Asking the neighbors not to put their garbage in your can. 2) After you call your local garbage company. Leave a little reminder note to please put your can on your side of the driveway.

This takes all of two minutes I don't think you will be interrupting their day! lol You should be able to get this information about who is your local garbage company by calling your local city hall. If they don't have it; ask them if they could direct you to some office that would know this information. Maybe it is a good thing that the neighbors openly show you their hateful side, because I am sure that you do not want your son to adopt such values. You kind of dodged a bullet there, huh? lol

I would get a new garbage can that I could put a lock on if yours does not already do that and lock it on all non-garbage days. I agree that you should not talk to them any more. However they want to live their last days is their business, but with all this hostility they are unnecessary pointing at you they are making it yours! Stop letting them intimidate you! Don't pick a fight or curse at them because they could call the police on you and you could be charged with elder abuse. I am aware that they are the ones harassing you, but never put anything past hateful people! If they say anything to you just ignore them or look them straight in the eye and give them a firm response. The best revenge is too live well. If they want to be hateful then that is ON THEM! Don't let it trouble you anymore. I wish you all the best and may every day of your life bring you immense joy! I hope this helps! Have a nice day!I need some advice about my neighbours, please?
Can u lot who answered so far read? Theyve been that way for 35 YEARS

THEY WERE NOT IN THEIR EIGHTIES 35 YEARS AGO!!

    SINCE THEY WERE 45!

45 is not elderly so stop making crap excuses for the neighbours who have cleerly been antisocial idiots since middle age
Rose, where is your tolerance of the elderly. I know they can be exasperating at times but they are very set in their ways and have a strong sense of their boundaries and what they think is right - they are of the old school. Why have you bothered to keep trying to be friendly for 35 years for goodness sake when they have made it plain they are just happy with each other and keep themselves to themselves. I would have thought you would be pleased that they were 'the invisible couple' so they do not bother you.(Ok say they put rubbish in your bin is it such a big deal?) You need to get all this in perspective and let them get on with their lives and you get on with yours instead of letting this fester. It seems to bother you more than it does them. You will be old one day too. Let it go and you will be a much happier person.
Unfortunately your neighbours don't seem to be the most communicative of creatures. I would speak to your local councillor and ask for their advice or contact the citizen's advice bureau. I don't think you should put yourself through any more stress and let official bodies deal with it on your behalf. You can get an order against then if necessary so they do not trespass on your property. I am sorry you are going through this, hope you resolve it as amicably as possible. You have done your utmost to be reasonable, unfortunately not everyone else has the same code of conduct.
It is a shame they will not get along better than they do with you and your son. When i was growing up, I had neighbors just like that, only not that old. But us kids in the neighborhood couldn't do anything without them calling the cops on us. I wish you the best of luck with your situation though. I really pitty your son. Have you thought about moving? Because you know by now that they will never like you or your son, no matter what.
We must be tolerant of people in their 80's. They tend to show child like symptoms as they get older. Just remember that one day you will be 80 and hope for a better disposition. Remember it is them that is loosing out on the last years of thier life. How horrible to end it that way.
Why would they want anything to do with your child??..Their elderly for god's sake, and if all you have to complain about is '; he can't keep his hands off my bin '; It's you that's sad and lonely. I take it your son is now grown and has his own life.?..You also are now set in your ways...So try and have a bit of Patience and ignore them..Sorry if my comments sound a bit harsh
Ignore them when possible. They will die soon. Call the cops when necessary. A few fines will set old people straight fast.
Honestly, I'd tell him that it wasn't your fault that the trash man puts the can there and that if he would like to stay out of jail, he'll stop attempting to vandalize your car. I mean, he's already shown the type of person he is, and that he doesn't want to be neighborly, so there's nothing you can do but protect your property,.
YOU , yes, YOU are going to be JUST LIKE THEM when you get older.

Older people do NOT like to get out--unless necessary--I AM EVEN DOING IT NOW!

    They are suspicious of people.

They don't HAVE to have OTHERS around to make them HAPPY,

so do YOURSELF AND THEM a favor--and QUIT trying so hard.
There is very little you can do; it is clear that they wont change for the better. Legal procedure is not an option, without more serious events occurring. Could you have a brick wall, or iron railings built between the properties? You could keep your dustbin in the back garden until collection day %26amp; paint your house number on the bin, for the dustmens' benefit!
First of all, let me tell u what I would do to that old couple.

First thing is I will forgive them as our lord has told us to forgive others when they do wrong to us.

Secondly , if they are so fond of leaving garbage in our bin , I would buy a bigger dust bin and ask the couple to put their waste also into it so that they dont have to take more trouble as they are old enough.

With love I would give them a smile everytime they try looking at me, even if they don't smile back to me.

There will be a day, when they may be in need, God forbid, I would be the first person to lend them that helping hand.

With these small gestures I am sure they will change and learn to love people.
How do this neighbor view living next to you, is it all milk, and honey ? I'm not yet to see 80 but history tells of many changes in those 80 years. Would it be possible that this couple went through some things, and it had something to do with people out side the marriage, possibly a neighbor , maybe one just like you. See some folks forgive, and forget then you have those that forgive, and don't want to go it again. So forgetting is now not an option, and your not needed. It could be something he (the husband) views as a game, and your part of the game is the ';need a neighbor'; that you will never get. Time will tell all this I know.
Well, I suppose after 35 years, there really isn't much you can do to change the way they are. First off, why is it so important that they have anything to do with your child? Are they related in some way? Second call the garbage company and tell them you are have trouble with your neighbor, no need to burden them with specifics, and need the garbage attendants to be a bit more attentive to the fact that your dust bin must remain on your property.

I will admit that I am a bit of an anti-social person when it comes to the area in which I live. I am polite but I do not socialize with my neighbors on any level! I just don't care too! Their lives are their own and I don't want them butting into mine so why butt into theirs? If, for some odd reason, I feel the need to connect with my neighbors I would do it at the post box! Seems to be the most obvious place to start up a conversation.

However, like I said, I avoid this when ever possible! I don't like people knowing my business, unless I want them to, and neighbors, some neighbors, can be a bit pushy! I'm extremely shy so the need to attend BBQ's or any of that sort of thing would be too uncomfortable for me.

You could look at it in this way! Perhaps they just don't have it in them to socialize with the neighbors. This is not uncommon!

As far as the 'Kicked Bin' goes, you did send him a letter ordering him to keep his grubby little hands off. He did the next best thing and used his foot! Hmm! ((shrug)) Call the garbage Company!

Oh, and one more thing, and please don't take this the wrong way!?! Just because they live next door doesn't mean you will automatically be stedfast friends. It just doesn't work that way! Some people just like to be left alone, and others have specific friends and these friends just might not include you!

Don't be offended by how they act! Just take steps to avoid them! Stop trying to push your friendship on them! After this many years, you may as well take their hint and ignore them!

    Good Luck

Check with Bo Huff or Night Prowlers. You might also check in Ol' Skool Rodz (I remember a few months ago, they had an article on setting up flamethrowers).I need so advice about my truck?
Put a sparkplug inside the end of your tailpipe, hook it to a coil, add a switch and you're in business.

I need some advice about traveling alone......?

I am a 28 year old woman who wants to go to another country and stay in a hostel, but I'll be alone.....any advice on where to go and what to see?I need some advice about traveling alone......?
see what ever you like and dont ask such questionsI need some advice about traveling alone......?
You certainly could go just about anywhere. Unless of course you are not permitted by your government. Eg US citizens are restricted by their government from travelling to Cuba. I know similar restrictions are placed on other nationalities depending on where they want to go.

One piece of advice I'd give is if you want to avoid unwanted attention then pick a country where it is not uncommon for single women to be seen in public. In some countries it is frowned upon for women to appear in public unchaperoned.

Single women travelling in USA, Australia, Western Europe as well as East and South-East Asia is common so you should have less hassles compared to places such as Turkey and India.

If you wanted to go to any other places group tours are a good way to retain some of your independence but have the security of the group to fall back on.

With hostels you will find that some countries it is common for males and females to share a dorm while other places you may only find segregated dorms.

Please give me advice about my husband.....?

I'm just wanting some advice. I am 25 years old and i have been with my husband for 5 years married for 1 year. Well he has changed he put his hands on me last night and tried to hang himself over a fight we had about him looking at other girls it wouldn't of been a fight but if i look at a guy i'm called all kinds of names. We have 3 kids together and i really do love him i want to make this work but i dont know what to do. Can anybody give me some advice????Please give me advice about my husband.....?
Abusers usually never stop. Get out now! It will only get worse. I know from experience. LEAVE! look up info on domestic violence and the statistics, there is women that don't make it out of a relationship like that alive. If he hits you call the police. and then get far away!!!!Please give me advice about my husband.....?
Sounds like dishonesty on both sides.Of course your going to look at other people but it doesn't mean your going to have sex with them.If your flirtatious like that ok then i would be upset , but not over a glance.

Forgive and forget move on and discuss these meaningless issues with him.Let him know how you feel for him.
Yikes. Counseling...orrrr some professional help of some kind for him.

Yahoo answers cannot fix this for you...be safe.

He needs to see a therapist to help him work out some issues, one of them being jealousy. Maybe both of you should see a marriage counselor. Suggest it to him for the sake of your marriage.
go to counceling fast! i had to eventually divorce my husband because he tried the suicide thing. if your husband tried to hurt you then you cant ignore this and you should leave and make it clear you will not return until he gets help. once a man abuses it only gets worse. if you allow it he will keep doing it. this behaviour will have terrible consequences on the kids.do they know about the attemped suicide?my kids still have scars over what happened in the house when their dad was there. i will also say it is a terrible example as how a father should treat the women in their lives. in fact my boys think its fine to disrespect me. i had to set them straight. it was years of watching their dad treat me that way. good luck!
Get help. If it has happened once it will happen again. Trust me!!
Your the only one that knows what you should do. All I know is that everyone deserves to be happy no matter what!
    HE NEEDS PROFESSIONAL HELP!

So he is abusive and suicidal, that does not sound like a healthy marriage that you need to be in. Not only for yourself but you have to think about what he could or will do to the children, he is not a safe sane person, so do not think that he would never do anything to you or the kids. Pack yours and kids bags and get far away from his man. Good luck.
Yes, he's cheating and is also being manipulative, controling and abusive.

I suggest birth control and therapy for both

    Good luck
get a restriaing order against him

call 800-799-7233 (SAFE) for immeidate shelter and assistance.

    this man is dangerous
I would say that if you really do love him and if this was the first time that he had ever put his hands on you then there may be a chance to work it out. However, if he has a record of putting his hands on you you need to decide if you believe if he can change. Talk with him and suggest counseling. If he is willing to work at it it might be worth it. However, you need to be concerned about the safety of you and your children. Do you want them to grow up in an abusive environment?
my husband used to put his hands on me. i left him for three months no contact what so ever i would not talk to him on the phone or see him. it was extremely hard. we got back together and he has not hit me sense.

I need some advice about a BMW X5?

My dad has a 2008 BMW X5 and when i turn 16, he said that he will give it to me. I know that it is a really nice car, but i want a smaller car since the gas prices are outrageous. Can anyone give me information on the new BMW X5'sI need some advice about a BMW X5?
well. first of all there's three engines: 6 cylinder gas, 6 cylinder diesel, and 8 cylinder gas. then there's the six speed tranny. but that's a diffrent story. The engines are really powerful, that's how BMW got it's name. I'd say it's somewhat bad at the pump, but if your dad is giving it away, it's worth keeping. These are great cars, even if you are popular.I need some advice about a BMW X5?

  • Advice about bed time?

i have a two year old and she never sleeps in her bed the whole night through, only once in a blue moon. around bed time she gets in our bed to go to sleep...she wont lay in hers. Once she goes to sleep I move her to her bed, but 98% of the time when I wake up in the morning there she is, in the bed with us again. what can I do to get her to sleep in her bed?Advice about bed time?
What we did is:We would wait for our daughter to climb into bed, and then we started to push her around.

Everytime she got comfortable somebody moved and she started complaining.

We said thats why kids have their own bed so they dont get squashed by the grown ups.

And when we went to bed and she was already asleep in it, we would do the same until she woke up.

One evening when we went to bed and started pushing her around, she got up and went to her bed and fell asleep right away.

I quess after a few nights of uneasy sleep made her see the light - the night light that is.

    Good LuckAdvice about bed time?
I think it is really important to foster independance. Your child can't sleep with you forever. I save it for when my 2 yo is sick or for morning cuddles. I would be firm at bed time. Make a bed time routine and stick to it. For us, we start 30 mins before with bath time, story time, teeth brushing, kisses and finally, bed. He goes to bed without a fight because he knows what to expect. It's the same every night. It's not too late to start. Good luck.
Here is a great book dealing with healthy sleep habits for children of all ages. It requires persistence, but will happen quickly.

    Good luck!
Wow this sounds EXACTLY what I went through with my daughter. There is hope. She is 6 now and falls asleep in her own bed AND STAYS THERE! I have to admit I didnt really start working with her on it until last year, though.

The first thing we did was make a ';star chart'; and she got a star for falling asleep in her own bed. She also got another star if she stayed in bed all night (if she came to our room I helped her back into bed). The deal was that she could have the toy she wanted when she hit 10 stars.

I also made her a CD of disney lullabies and soft music and gave her simple remote so that if she woke up in the middle of the night she could turn her music back on. We put a nightlight near her bed so that she could turn it on without getting up.

Its not a perfect system, but I think even a two-year old can be cohersed with a good reward system. Try laying down with her in her bed for the first few nights, then start getting out of her bed before she falls asleep. Maybe right after storytime or prayers, depending on your bedtime tradition.
my 2 yr old will not sleep w/ no one but me so i dont think u could break that by yourself
Well be consistent with the removal of her to her bed. If you are a heavy sleeper good luck, I'm not If my son woke up and crawl in our bed he would be put right back into the bed. He doesn't sleep walk to our bed anymore. He went to sleep in his own bed around 15 months. Put a gate which sounds cruel in her doorway, tell her she needs to sleep in her own bed. Be consistent of this, keep on putting her back in her room.
Have you tried going to bed with her in her bed and when she goes to sleep you leave and if you're still up and you hear her rustling go and assure her that you're there and leave when she falls asleep again. I do that with my son he's 2 1/2 and it seems to work.
Undoing the damage that you have already done is going to be a feat in itself! Don't put her in your bed to begin with! She has insecurities about sleeping by herself and it's your fault. Put her in her bed at night and tell her that she is to sleep there. If she cries, let her, if she gets out of bed, put her right back in it. It will take you a while, but that's the only thing you can do. Also, keep your door open, but put a baby gate in front of the door, so she can't get in...you will be able to hear her cry and simply get up and put her back in her own bed!
My child does the same thing, I am just going to let him outgrow it. I have a 7 and a 9 year old, and they both sleep in their own bed. I am not going to force him to sleep in his bed for now, even though it can be aggravation.
This is a tough one because it is a hard habit to break. I am sure you have tried telling her that big girls sleep in their own bed and rewarding her for nights that she sleeps all night in her own bed. If not try those. Give her incintive to stay in her bed like she can stay up a little later with you, or promise a trip to the zoo the next day and hold up to it. I know you don't want to have to bribe her every night, but maybe just until she get the hang of it. Try communicating with her the reason she does not wan to stay in her bed and try to work with her on the reasons. Like if she is afraid of the dark, then leave the hall light/night light on for her or put the TV on. Give her a special friend that can only sleep in her bed with her that will protect her or put a big picture of something she likes up on her wall the will keep her safe and it only stays in her room. Get some fine glitter powder and sprinkle a little on her before bed time and tell her that it is fairy dust that only works in her bed to give her the sweetest dreams and if she gets up then the fairys won't come back for her dreams If these do not work, then the moment she crawls in bed with you pick her up and put her back in her own bed. Let her cry until she falls asleep. After about a week of this she will get the idea. Also try locking your door at night so she can't get in. I know you don't want to punish her but this behavior will not just go away. I have a cousin that slept on her mom and dads floor until she was 16 years old. I know you don't want that. This is why my 9 month old has never slept with me and my husband, we need our alone time and so do you. Good luck and i hope i helped.
SHE'LL START SLEEPING BY HERSELF WHEN SHE'S READY. I'D RATHER HAVE HER THERE SLEEPING WITH ME, THEN HER NOT THERE AT ALL.

    Advice about doctors?

if i tell a doctor something and i dont want them to tell my parent's. do they have to tell my parent's or if i say i want it kept confidential will they keep it confidential?Advice about doctors?
They have to keep it a secret unless you are in some kind of danger (physical like being beaten, not medical). If they had to tell someone it would be social services not your parents.Advice about doctors?
There is doctor patient confidentiality they HAVE To keep what you say between you.

the only time a doctor will ever have to tell the parents or involve anyone is in an abuse case/rape.
Yes there are privacy acts to protect you and your rights as a patient. But my question would be how old are you ?

    1. Drink plenty of water. Our body needs a lot of water so give in to water. Water is not just way to flush out toxin but if you have more water in your body you will generally feel healthier and fitter. This it self will discourage any tendency to gorge. The best thing about water is that is has no calories at all.

    2. Start your day with a glass of water. As soon as you wake up, gulp down a glass of cool water. It鈥檚 a wonderful way to start you day and you only need a lesser quantity of your breakfast drink after that. A glass of water lets out all your digestive juices and sort of lubricates the insides of your body. You may have your morning cup of tea but have it after a glass of water. It is good for you.

    3. Drink a glass of water before you start the meal. Water naturally needs some space so that you feel fuller without actually having to stuff yourself.

    4. Have another glass of water while you are having the meal. Again this is another way of making yourself full so that you can actually rise from the table eating less but feeling full just the same. Instead of drinking it one gulp, take sips after each morsel. It will help the food to settle faster so that you get that feeling that you are full faster. SIDENOTE: Water is such a remarkable thing, but seldom do we give it the credit that it deserves. Did you know that over 66% of your body weight is nothing but water鈥?It鈥檚 amazing! Water also plays a vital role in weight control, which is why I donated so much space to it, above.

    5. Stay away from sweetened bottle drinks, especially sodas. Hey all those colas and fizzy drinks are sweetened with sugar and sugar means calories. The more you can cut out on these sweetened bottle drinks, the better for you. So if you must drink sodas, then stick to diet sodas.

    6. Include in your diet things that contain more water like tomatoes and watermelons. These things contain 90 to 95 % water so that there is nothing that you have to lose by feasting on them. They fill you up without adding to the pounds.

    7. Eat fresh fruit instead of drinking fruit juice. Juice is often sweetened but fresh fruits have natural sugars. When you eat fruit, you are taking in a lot of fiber, which is needed by the body, and fruits of course are an excellent source of vitamins.

    8. If you do have a craving for fruit juice then go for fresh fruit juice instead of these that contain artificial flavors and colors. Or even better, try making your own fruit juice taking care not to sweeten it with too many calories.

    9. Choose fresh fruit to processed fruits. Processed and canned fruits do not have as much fiber as fresh fruit and processed and canned fruits are nearly always sweetened.

    10. Increase your fiber intake. Like I mentioned, the body needs a lot of fiber. So try to include in your diet as many fruits and vegetables as you can.

    11. Go crazy on vegetables. Vegetables are your best bet when it comes to losing pounds. Nature has a terrific spread when it comes to choosing vegetables. And the leafy green vegetables are your best bet. Try to include a salad in you diet al

    Advice about German Shepherd?

    I love.

Is their a particular name for the short haired one?

I wanted to buy a puppy... anybody else got one? Any advice on bringing them up? I'd like to bring it up as a lethal guard dog but not harass a soul when I take it for walks...

    Thank you!

Soorry for aniother question by the way...Advice about German Shepherd?
I have 2 German Shepherds. Long or short , even white coated they are still Shepherds. My 2 will play happily gently and respectfully with small children, let old ladies pat their heads, rough and tumble with teenagers playing football.

When needed their recall is perfect, on command they have both proven their ability to take and hold a man down without harm. I've done all this with learning, training and understanding.

What I don't understand is why you would want to use an animal as a lethal weaponAdvice about German Shepherd?
There are different hair lengths that run in different bloodlines, but I always thought of GSDs as having relatively mediumish fur. Unless you're thinking of another breed, such as the Belgian Malinois. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belgian_Mal鈥?/a>

Y!A isn't craigslist.. to find a dog, check out the breed club's page: http://www.gsdca.org/base/index.php

What exactly is a ';lethal'; guard dog? You can't have a bloodthirsty killer and a perfect family pet in the same package. Training for Schutzhund might be interesting to you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schutzhund

    Best of luck.
I have a German Shepherd. Long or short coated they are all German Shepherds. Alsatian was a name given to the breed in World War One when it was unpopular to be German in Britain.

It is not a good idea to purposefully raise them to be ';lethal';. First and foremost they are herding dogs, not attack dogs. They are very intelligent and make wonderful dogs if trained properly. They do make very good guard dogs, as they are very watchful.

It perhaps worth mentioning that, since the recession in this country, places like the German Shepherd Rescue are receiving hundreds of dogs per week, so it might be a good idea to get a GSD from them.

They vet people pretty thoroughly and would let you know if you are the sort of person who can successfully own one of these magnificent dogs. Buy a puppy if you must and if you believe you have the patience and time to raise a good dog, but bear in mind the hundreds of GSD's that need a home now.
As far as I know, there is not a name for a short haired GSD.

When you get a puppy, MAKE SURE THAT IT KNOWS THE BASIC COMMANDS AND IS WELL SOCIALIZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

German Shepherds are natural guard dogs. Please don't bring it ups as a ';LETHAL GUARD DOG';. Unless you know what you are doing, you will have a problem animal on your hands. Plus, what if this ';lethal guard dog'; attacks some one????? Are you prepared for the legal and financial ramifications that you have created????????????
This was all I could find but it should be enough for you to know the difference.

As far as the guard dog part, that has to be trained in order for it to be reliable.

    http://www.indiakennels.com/security-tra鈥?/a>
gsd can be long or short haired depending on the blood line as the other person said. and as far as a guard dog side it depends what u want to use it for

if its for ur own home then socialise it as it is in the dogs nature to pretect the territory in this case ur home.

however if you want it as a working dog then it needs to be socialised with other dogs but very few people as it will see them as attention givers and not suspects. the problem with this is that you have to decide if you want it as a pet or as guard dog as you cannot tell it to scare people off and actn aggressive and then tell it to love people with this it is all about training being constant and you teaching it to listen and obey commands but good luck either way they are excellant dogs
I have a shep, seriously she has nothing but health problems.

    Anal fruncloses and arthritis.

So before you get one of these cute, friendly pets make sure you can afford the vet fee's.

She costs us about 拢200 a month just on vet fee's.

So even though i love her to bits i would suggest checking out health problems as anal fruncloses doesn't have a cure.

    Good Luck.
So you want a German Shepherd

Go to Germany Go to farm that has sheep

Use a big net to catch him in

and that's it you have now got yourself a German Shepherd

Hope having one makes you happy.
Aww wonderful dogs. Training is the key here - they respond to commands like angels to be honest - so having one as a family pet and also as a guard dog is possible.
yeah german shepard or alsation. . .

The German Shepherd Dog (GSD, also known as an Alsatian), (German: Deutscher Sch盲ferhund) is a breed of large-sized dog that originates from Germany.[1] German Shepherds are a fairly new breed of dog, with their origins only dating back to 1899. Part of the herding group, shepherds are working dogs developed originally for herding sheep. Their strength, intelligence and obedience often sees them employed in police and military roles in forces around the world.[2] Due to their loyal and protective nature the breed is among the most registered.[3]

    Origins

';The German Shepherd may not be the fastest, strongest or most intelligent dog, but it is the dog with the best combination of all three characteristics'; .. Amju Mathew.

In Europe, during the 1800s, dog breeds were beginning to be standardized.[4] The dogs were bred to preserve traits that assisted in their job of herding sheep and protecting flocks from predators. In Germany this was practiced within local communities, with the shepherds selecting and breeding dogs together that they believed had good traits, such as intelligence, strength, and keen senses of smell. The results were dogs that were able to perform admirably in their task, but that differed significantly, both in appearance and ability, from one locality to another.[4]

To combat these differences, the Phylax Society was formed in 1891 with the intention of creating standardised dog breeds in Germany. The society disbanded after only three years due to an ongoing, internal conflict regarding the traits that the society should promote; some members believed dogs should be bred solely for working purposes, while others believed dogs also should be bred for appearance.[5] While unsuccessful in their goal, the Phylax Society had inspired people to pursue standardising dog breeds independently.

Max von Stephanitz, an ex-cavalry captain and former student of the Berlin Veterinary College, was one such ex-member. He believed strongly that dogs should be bred for working.

In 1899, Von Stephanitz was attending a show when he was shown a dog named Hektor Linksrhein. Hektor was the product of many generations of selective breeding and completely fulfilled what Von Stephanitz believed a working dog should be. He was pleased with the strength of the dog and was so taken by the animal's intelligence and loyalty, that he purchased it immediately.[4] After purchasing the dog he changed its name to Horand von Grafrath and Von Stephanitz founded the Verein f眉r Deutsche Sch盲ferhunde (Society for the German Shepherd Dog).[4] Horand was declared to be the first German Shepherd Dog and was the first dog added to the society's breed register.

Horand became the centre-point of the society's breeding programs and was bred with dogs belonging to other society members that displayed desirable traits. Although fathering many pups, Horand's most successful was Hektor von Schwaben.[6] Hektor was inbred with another of Horand's offspring and produced Beowulf, who later fathered a total of eighty-four pups, mostly through being inbred with Hektor's other offspring.[7] Beowulf's progeny also were inbred and it is from these pups that all German Shepherds draw a genetic link. It is believed the society accomplished its goal mostly due to Von Stephanitz's strong, uncompromising leadership and he is therefore, credited with being the creator of the German Shepherd Dog.[8]

    [edit] Popularity

When the UK Kennel Club first accepted registrations for the breed in 1919, fifty-four dogs were registered, and by 1926 this number had grown to over 8,000.[4] The breed first gained international recognition at the decline of World War I after returning soldiers spoke highly of the breed, and animal actors Rin Tin Tin and Strongheart popularised the breed further.[9] The first German Shepherd Dog registered in the United States was Queen of Switzerland; however, her offspring suffered from defects as the result of poor breeding, which caused the breed to suffer a decline in popularity during the late 1920s.[9] Popularity increased again after the German Shepherd Sieger Pfeffer von Bern became the 1937 and 1938 Grand Victor in American Kennel club dog shows, only to suffer another decline at the conclusion of World War II, due to anti-German sentiment of the time.[9] As time progressed, their popularity increased gradually until 1993, when they became the third most popular breed in the United States, a position the breed still holds.[9][10] Additionally, the breed is typically among the most popular in other registries.[9]

    [edit] Name

The breed was named Deutscher Sch盲ferhund by Von Stephanitz, literally translating to ';German Shepherd Dog';. The breed was so named due its original purpose of assisting shepherds in herding and protecting sheep. At the time, all other herding dogs in Germany were referred to by this name; they thus became known as Altdeutsche Sch盲ferhunde or

  • I need some advice about this girl!!! Answer anyone?

Alright so there's this girl that i work with and i've known for quite some time now. I'm really into her and she flirts a lot and seems into me too. But shes with another guy who doesn't really treat her right. What do i do?I need some advice about this girl!!! Answer anyone?
You need to show her that you are into her, and that you are here for her.

DO NOT, no matter what, Tell her that her boyfriend treats her badly. and that you would be sooo much better! She'll feel like you are being pushy and a jerk! Trusttt meeee!!!!!

But do show her that you care. and that NO MATTER what happens between her and her current bf, you will be there for her!

Show her that she's special! :)I need some advice about this girl!!! Answer anyone?
It's always best to be the friend who cares, because she'll slowly start to realize that she has someone who really cares for her, don't try to get into her relationship (i mean telling her how you feel, that you could be better, etc.) that always makes us push you away, for some reason. I was going through a lot of bad times with my boyfriend and had this friend who was always there for me, after i broke up with him I started talking more and more to my friend and then we ended up going out... after 4 years of us going out, we began to go through a lot of rough patches, I then had another friend who began to be there for me, but a lot of times he tried to kiss me when all I wanted was a hug from someone, or he would tell me to break up with my boyfriend, that he would treat me better.. that made me back away from him, and when my boyfriend found out about him, he began getting mad every time I would talk to him, so I completely began to ignore him.. now my boyfriend is my fiance, we are doing really good together, and I haven't heard from my friend in years... So if you really want something good with her.. do what my fiance did to win me over.. be her friend first. Good luck and hope my long story was of any use to you :D
SHOW her how she can be treated!! Its perfect it will show her wat shes missing out on. Bring her breakfast to work or something sweet like that then she will appreciate you even more and next thing you know you should tell her how you feel and see if all you've been doing for her has impressed her enough to leave that jerk. :) good luck
I would wait for her to come to her senses and dump the guy. Meanwhile, you should continue to be nice and readily available for any conversation that she may need. Again, please wait until she's free until you become involved with her, because she won't be able to choose between the two of you. (She'll always be going back and forth.) Just my opinion.
I think I saw a porno about this once. you should investigate if you really care.

actually, I had this same thing happen and the girl ended up getting really hurt, so you should definitely ask her out because there are a lot of jerks out there who don't deserve these girls.
well my suggestion is MAKE HER FALL FOR U!!

if that other guy DOESN'T TREAT HER RITE don't point it out to her... i know u care for her %26amp; everything but what ever u do don't talk to her about how he doesn't treat her rite... u can SUGGEST she leave him %26amp; ull b her sholder to cry on. I THINK U JUST GOTTA GET CLOSER to her %26amp; keep flirting!!

once she realizes her feelings for u then SHE WILL DUMP THE OTHER GUY

    hope this helped =]]]
Just get to know her and be there for as a friend. Trust me I am a girl I know. Eventually she will realize he is a jerk and when that time comes she will realize who is still around.
Go ahead and ask her to have a cup of coffee or something similar. You never know what will happen and you're not losing anything. goodluck.
slowly make her take your bait. tease her here and there. that way, she'll be thinking about you while she's with that jerk...
    ask her out

I need some advice about a death in the family???

There's been a death in the family the part that has been exstranged for some time now. We talk but only when we need to. Now the guy who died is the main reason that we don't have that conection way we use to be. OK the question how do I tell her how I feel with seeming the only reason I'm there is to confort her when we're not that close anymore. Will the family really know that I'm sincere or hate me even more to being there???I need some advice about a death in the family???
Regardless of what ';they'; think, if you really want to rebuild your relationship with this family, go and support them during this period of grief. It seems as if you sincerely want to get back where you were and believe it or not, they too probably would like to get back there. Use this time of grief as a stepping stone and know that it is only one step in the process. An obstacle has been moved out of your way, take advantage of it. But, your heart has to be true. If you have ulterior motives, then yes it will be apparent to all involved and that would make the situation worse. But, if as it sounds to me, you are sincere, they will accept that sincerity with open arms.

Also, don't ever let someone else determine your relationships. When you care for someone, you care for them--good and bad. Be there for her during her time of loss, but not because you think you are not close anymore, but because you have been carrying this person in your heart which means she will always be close to you regardless of who comes into her life. She is in yours and you will love her through it all. Don't ever be afraid to show love.I need some advice about a death in the family???
Say what you mean and really mean what you say. Also, there is no perfect family. The Brady Bunch just does not exist.

In need of advice about adoption!!?

We have a close friend that is getting ready to deliever her baby in 3 weeks and she doesnt want it. What needs to be done? Do we need to go through the whole legal process or can she just sign over parental rights over to us? Please help and let us know what you know. Thanks! In need of advice about adoption!!?
you have do things through the legal process but you can do every thing through a lawyer. But Yes it needs to be done.

You can have her give you the baby untill it is all done, so she does not have to take the baby home with her .In need of advice about adoption!!?
I would absolutely recommend that you NOT adopt your friend's baby. It has far too much potential to be a horrible situation for the child, and who knows about what it could be like for the parents. A child can not be shared in any way at all. The biological mother will not be able to just sit by while her friend becomes the mother of her child, no matter what she or you think. Someday the biological mother will decide she likes her baby now, or doens't like the way you've treated her, or just wants to get to know her a little, or feels like she could maybe just give the mothering thing a try. Or who knows what. Adoption needs to be done between parties that have nothing to do with each other. The relationships between the people need to be free of emotional entanglements.

Secondly, a mother can not just sign her baby over to someone else and that's it. The laws vary from state to state but, you definitely need a lawyer (hopefully an adoption lawyer). The birth father also has rights to the child and that needs to be documented and he needs to sign over his rights as well. A good lawyer will not jsut let you ignore the father's rights and a good judge will not approve of an adoption that does not include severing the father's rights.

Please do not adopt your friend's baby. If you want to adopt a baby, go through the proper channels and adopt a baby from someone wiht whm you have no previous history. If your friend can't keep her baby, she needs to go to an adoption agency and work with them to find a family for her baby. If either of you thinks this is not the way to do it, then you need to examine why and realize the problems that you are setting yourself up for. Your friend needs to say goodbye to her baby (if she doesn't want it) and not just sign over the baby to her friend.
I'm sure when you said that ';she doesn't want it'; you meant that she does not have the means to raise a child at this time in her life so she is choosing to place her child with a couple who does.

Your first step is to find an adoption attorney, preferrably an adoption attorney. They usually know of someone certified to conduct a homestudy and can give you the contact information. Under circumstances like yours, there can be a rush put on the homestudy.

Also, you will need to have the birthfather to relinquish his rights as well. If no one is able to contact him, it will be a lengthy process to terminate his rights. And they must be terminated before the adoption can be finalized.

Your friend cannot relinquish her rights until after the baby is born and, depending on what state you're in, the time in which she signs varies from 24 hours to as much as 5 days after the birth. She will then, again depending on your state, have a revocation period which is a time where she can change her mind.

I suggest contacting an agency or asking the adoption attorney about setting up counseling for your friend as well as yourself. Adoption shouldn't be taken lightly and you should prepare yourself to deal with any issues your child may have someday with their adoption.

This situation can work out for the best for all of you. I hope it does. Above all, please keep the best interests of the child in mind.
absolutly go thru it all legally as possible now she might not want the baby. but whos to say in 10 years later she wants the baby back and you dont have leverage she will be able to have her baby back always cover ur ***
get to a lawyer immediately and start paper work now
It sounds so harsh the way you said she just doesn't want it. That is awful. Does she have a reason for not wanting her own child? She took the chance of getting pregnant when she had sex. I think it sounds sad.
You should do no less than what is suggested in this pdf. Anything less is unethical.
Call local adoption agnecies to get an Adoption Homestudy started. May take more than a month, and expect to pay $500-$1200.

To be legal, make sure you either:

    1. Contact a local adoption agency and ask about an ';identified'; adoption -- they handle all the legals, diligent search, terminations, birthmother assistance and counseling. Expect to pay $3000 - $10,000.

    2. Contact an Adoption Attorney and ask for adoption services listed above. Expect to pay $3000 up + all allowable expenses.

    Do not:

    Give her any money

Take the baby as your own until she has signed

Assume the birthfather situation is a done deal unless he is present and you get DNA testing to prove he is the bio father.

    Do:

Pay for counseling for her. She is a best friend now, but who knows what will happen later. Grief is a funny thing.

Get the continuing contact agreement in writing and stick to it.

P.S. If you are going to adopt, you need to learn to be more sensitive and knowledgeable abuot adoption language! It is VERY important in shaping how people (including children!) feel adout adoption and themselves! Most birthmothers desperately want their children, but unselfishly do what they believe is in their best long term interest by making an adoption plan for them.

    Good luck.
Yes, to legally adopt you have to go through the entire legal processes. At minimum, you have to have a homestudy, and file a petition to adopt in court. Your state may have further requirements as well regarding the natural mom receiving counseling, etc.

All you might be able to try (and if you're not family it may not work) is to get a temporary custody order while you're working on everything. This would not involve a full relinquishment on th mothers part, just a temp or interim guardianship order. You will need to hire an attorney ASAP to see what, if any, options you have. I would also hire your homestudy agency and get things started right away to show you are serious.

I suggest, however, that she take the baby home from the hospital and try to raise him. As a good friend you can help her...maybe she's just scared or overwhelmed and needs a friend more than she needs to place her baby for adoption. If she still wants to relinquish she can do so anytime after birth and you can start the process.
Put up the money for an adoption attorney now, to avoid any problems later. A referral service can get you a cheap consultation.

Yes, she is your friend, but you still want to be sure all of your ';Ts'; are crossed. For her sake as well as yours.

    Congrats!
Call an adoption lawyer and they will take care of everything and make sure it is all legal. That is important. Not sure if you even need a homestudy in this situation. Ask the lawyer!
You will need to go through the legal process. If you want the child to be legally yours and to prevent any other problems down the road.
It needs to be legalized. If she has second thoughts in 2 weeks or 2 yrs or 10 yrs she can have that child back b/c there was no legal adoption, therefore uprooting the child and everything it knows as home.

Get a lawyer, do it legally, and enjoy your new addition. :)
You NEED a lawyer, a good one now.

Dont fixate on negative feelings like anger. Life is too short. Fun is key. When youre an old lady on your death bed you'll look back and wish you'd spent this time doing something meaningful instead of being angry.

A little anger is healthy however but make sure you deal with it in the right way.

    Goodluck.
