Do you have any advice on what I should do when someone makes an offensive comment about homosexuality?

It is really starting to bug me when individuals in my classes make tacky jokes and nasty comments about being GLBT. I know I shouldn't let it bother me but it does. What should I do about it?Do you have any advice on what I should do when someone makes an offensive comment about homosexuality?
i'm the same way...sometimes they are funny...but it just gets old. But unfortunately there is nothing you can do...just look the other way and know you better than themDo you have any advice on what I should do when someone makes an offensive comment about homosexuality?
I usually stare into their eyes and say, ';EXCUSE ME? WHY would you say something like that?'; That usually makes them at least a little uncomfortable, and they often realize they've said something offensive and apologize immediately.





If not -- if they try to defend their remarks as ';just a joke'; -- I continue to stare them down and say, ';Excuse me? I'M gay, and I don't think that's funny at all. In fact, I think you owe me an apology!';





They always back down and apologize :-)
Turn it around back on them, see what their reaction would be if it were them. This might get their attention as to how ignorant they are being. Some comments can be have a dark humor to them, but they are still wrong. You could try turning it around or you could just keep quiet. If you speak up enough they might stop all together.
its really a vry bad behaviour the way ur classmates behave wit u. But,don't get upset. In our society there r some ppl who love hurting others and they get fun doing this. If u get upset,then they'll win. Don't let that be. Treat them as some rowdy or insane ppl who love hurting others.











N.B. Well..u can say a big SHUT UP also if u feel like.
just let them know that those kind of jokes offend you and you would like it if they wouldn't those kind of jokes around you
Just laugh in a very sarcastic manner,,which makes them feel that they were being stupid.


Ignore as much as you can.


And also whenever anyone does that just tell them'; Oh!! I think you are jealous of homosexual..Aren't you?
I say, ';They can't help it. They were born that way.';
Tell them need to quit listening to what Pat Robertson says.
Say, ';oh my my, me thinkst thow protest too much!'; lol
