Chance of her getting pregnant is very low .. i do not think Morning After pill is required ..I need advice about a sexual issue?
It really isn't necessary for you to be so worried. You only need to be worried if she knows for sure that she hadn't been taking the pill correctly in the last week before she began her period. If she took the pill correctly, it would mean she would not have ovulated, and therefore cannot get pregnant. If she takes the pill correctly, then she wil protected against pregnancy, even during the break while she is on her period. You need to read up on the pill. You can't have her rush off to the pharmacy every time you decide to freak out to try and get the morning after pill. The morning after pill is very harsh, and should only be used in emergency situations. There is no need for the morning after pill, stop stressing and educate yourself about the contraceptive pill.
The pharmacist was right. Most birth control pills are taken 21 days, and a week off in which the woman usually gets her period (many pills have a placebo or sugar pill that is taken that week so the woman stays in the habit of taking her daily pill). If she's been on the pill at least a month total, and takes them without fail as she should, then she's protected by the pill (from pregnancy) all the time, even during the 7 day break that she has her period. The risk is no higher during those 7 days than any of the other 21 days she's taking the pill...
While the pill is only about 99% effective, it's that effective all the time a woman takes it correctly, as long as she's been on it long enough to have taken effect. Some couples use condoms in addition, for additional pregnancy protection as well as to prevent STD transmission, but many couples that are monogamous and know they are both free of STDs, are quite comfortable using only the pill as their birth control method. 99% effective against pregnancy is pretty darned effective.
It is possible to get pregnant while menstruating. People will tell you it's not because the very nature of menstruation, but the truth is you can. I know from experience as my son is now 6 years old.
That said I'm against the morning after pill except in cases of rape. For a host of reasons, but one concern is they can throw things in your body off like your next period.
Use protection from now on and make sure she gets back on the pill as condoms aren't a 100% and can break. Make sure she gets a pregnancy test to see if she is pregnant so she can start receiving proper care if she is asap.
Next time don't have unprotected sex.
I know it's hard but believe me the consequence can be dire. I was 17 when I conceived and 18 when my son was born. I wasn't as young as some, but I wish it had been later in life. My story is a happy one as my husband and I are together 6 years later, married, own a home, and have a second son who is now 4. We are done with kids, but life is still good. Most stories don't end like mine. Most teens can't handle what my husband and I did. Nor do they want this type of life.
So don't put yourself at risk. Wrap it up next time. No excuses.
I assume the Pharmacist knew what he was talking about. But WHY did your girlfriend stop taking the pill because she was on her period...? there's still pills to take, every day of the month. (maybe there's a different brand that doesn't have a pill to take every day that I've never been on?) So why didn't you use a condom if she wasn't taking the pills? Too much stress now to really be worth it, huh?
you can not get pregnant on your period as the egg has been released etc.. thats why your bleeding thats the basic theres more about it but theres no point the day she she is most fertile is the 14th day of her period or thats the average so around that time so if you have with her around then theres a high chance in her getting pregnant
No as the type of pill she is on maens she has a break, comes on her period, but is covered during this time even tho she isnt taking it. If she takes it at the right time everyday (when she is supposed to) then its fine!
I have never heard of anyone getting pregnant on her period. Also, if she is on the pill, she is still safe even though she is off during the week she has her cycle. Of couse, nothing if 100% effective but I wouldn't worry.
i'm sure if the pharmacist said is wasnt neccesary, then im sure it will be fine, how about trying a more perminant form of contraception so you dont get worried like this again, ask about the implant las 3 years and can be renewed however many times
It's highly unlikely she could get pregnant while on her period especially since she is on the pill.
It is virtually impossible for a woman to turn into a mom during her period. That's when he body is saying, ';Motherhood? Not this month.';
Apart from your doctor, your pharmacist would be the best one to make educated guesses. Sounds like you maybe safe this time.
She can still get pregnant, it's just very unlikely. Surprised the pharmacist didn't give it to you 'just in case' though?
You are fine.
The pill prevents ovulation. No egg, no baby.
depends...if you did it standing up she can't get pregnant
