Your advice about two wines, Italian prosecco and Spanish cava...? and in addition: Italian vin santo ...?

Hi ...

I recently read nice things about these wines.....indicating that they were

pleasant ... and a really nice drink ....

Could you give your opinion of them -

I am looking for something new to drink....

so far, I like

champagne

asti spumante

dubonnet rouge

vodka %26amp; tonic with lime

and I am edging towards beaujolais ....

thank you very muchYour advice about two wines, Italian prosecco and Spanish cava...? and in addition: Italian vin santo ...?
Italian Prosecco and Spanish Cava are much like champagne. They are dry to off-dry sparkling wines. If you like champagne, you will like them.

Vin Santo is an Italian desert wine that is fairly sweet and has an orange sort of aroma. It is slightly oxidized (a bit like a raisin) and is nice with a dunked biscotti and a cup of espresso.

I think you would like them! Also, try Moscato di Asti... it is low alcohol. slightly lemony, with just a slight frizzante of carbon dioxide. Great summer drink!Your advice about two wines, Italian prosecco and Spanish cava...? and in addition: Italian vin santo ...?
Don't know about the latter, but Cava is usually a dry sparkling white wine, very easy and cleansing on the pallet
I'm an Amarone fan myself. Probably the best glass of wine I've ever had.
prosecco is the italian version of champagne, and usually made of chardonnay. it is far smoother than cava, and compares well with quite expensive champagnes. have a go.
I would be tempted by all three and take them in turn i.e.

one day Italian prosecco, the next Spanish cava and

finally Italian vin santo, and continue the sequence until

until you find another favourite.
Beaujolais ... hmph.... I opened up a nice bottle of chianti the other day that went down very nicely.

I'm also partial to Cabernet's for the body and depth.
If you like Asti Spumante you will certainly like Cava. Prosecco too, very possibly.

Vin Santo is a very sweet wine, usually drunk in tiny quantities with (or as) dessert; often with biscuits to dunk in it. You'll probably like it, but it's not something to order if you just fancy a drink!
