Advice about a boys name?

Im having a boy in a few months and the only name that i have found that I like is Madden. I know my conservative, old fashioned family wont like it but I love the name and im stuck on it. What do you think of the name?Advice about a boys name?

Love Madden. You will only be able to name a few babies in your life most likely so go with what you like. I too have a very conservative husband's family who really dislikes all of our boys names that are Shane, Joel, and Reed. My MIL wanted Patrick.





The men in my DH's family have names like Thomas, Frank, Edward, Michael, Joseph, Benjamin, Brian, David, blah!
Madden reminds me of the football guy and the football game, if you feel like being asked forever if your a football fan its not that bad of a name, but ... thats where the name will be placed. Its ok, just to many football ties for me :0).
Madden sounds weird coz it's like ';Maiden'; or when the child grows, he will be confused with the word ';Mad';. Why not make it ';Matthew'; instead? no offense meant
Quite uncommon as a first name; very Irish.


Might become a nickname ';Maddy,'; which some may confuse with Matthew.
Although Madden sounds oK, how about Bubba? I like that name better.
