Seniors what advice would you give about freedom?

I'm in my 40s and even in my lifetime I have experience a drastic cut in my freedoms,as in I have few left compared to when I was younger.Given your broader perspective would you suggest a revolution or do you just see it as inevitable we all become totally enslaved and dependant on the state?Seniors what advice would you give about freedom?
I don't know what freedoms you feel have been cut. I am 62 and enjoy all the same freedoms I have enjoyed sense birth. I certainly don't resent the steps that have been taken to keep terrorists out of our country. A few inconveniences. So now I need a passport, it takes a little longer to board a plane, so what? I feel safer when security is tight. I think you may have been reading the anti-government and conspiracy blogs on the Internet. Try a daily newspaper.Seniors what advice would you give about freedom?
What country do you live in? You would need to clarify that for me to answer...
America is still much better off than most countries, but there is not doubt our rights have been eroded -- most dramatically by the present Bush administration. Their fear-mongering has led to a great loss of civil liberties via the so-called Patriot Act and the Bush administration's blatant disregard for habeus corpus. They can now spy on any American, anytime, with no oversight and can imprison people indefinitely without access to the court system by simply declaring them to be enemy combatants. Think about the other countries that have done so, and be afraid of where we may be headed.

No, a revolution is not needed. We simply have to fear the loss of our civil liberties more than terrorists and vote accordingly
Yes , we have lost a lot of our freedoms and it is more like a police state more and more and I say we will have to pay attention and bann together and demand what we will do and will not do and have you traveled or should I say have you flown on an air plane lately what a hassle for sure, But what price do we want to pay for freedom/
Freedom is a lot of things, but it is NOT free. Thousands and thousands have given their lives for your freedom. For you to sit there and complain that yours has been drastically cut implies that you expect your freedom on a silver platter -- that good old entitlement thing.

This nation is fully capable of surrendering certains minor ';freedoms'; in times of war (WWII should be easy enough to research) and then reclaiming them completely.

We're at war.
Freedom is very precious and should be held onto to even if you have to have a revolution to keep it. We, in the USA, are losing our freedoms bit by bit and all we do is go with the flow and that is wrong.

I hurt my back real bad at work over a week ago %26amp; all my manager cared about was the time I would miss %26amp; screw up the hours for others (this is retail by the way). He didn't care one bit about my health just his cash flow. My spine is fusing together due to arthritis. Very painful !!! I could never get a special day off either. Guess who is looking for another job?

And that is just in the work place!

I am in the act of rebelling on everything because I have had enough from all sectors.

I am 62 and have had enough.
I have no idea what state you live in, but truthfully, I have not seen that much erosion in our freedoms. I am still free to pay taxes in a timely manner, I am still free to be arrested if I drive drunk, I am still free to go to the slammer if I smoke some weed...actually, not much has changed over the years.
The state has become a little more restrictive but you missed out on things like Child Labor, Spare the rod and spoil the child where your teacher or school principal could inflict corporal punishment, Involuntary drafting into the military. I think maybe it is not that you are totally enslaved but rather that it is a different kind of slavery, a slavery of you and your parents choosing. That is neither dependency nor true enslavement.
I'd like you to expound on the freedoms you've ';LOST';. I think you're talking outta your hind parts, IN MY OPINION.
i could probably rant on this for hours but i can`t seem to find the passion this morning i`ll just say our freedoms came with a very price tag don`t dishonor those who paid the bill

You need to be a bit more explicit about freedom. Have we lost our privacy? Definately. Everything is centrilised, and with Credit Cards, Drivers Licences and all that, I'm afraid the Government has all your information. If they want to use or see it. So the answer is yes.
Cherish it and remember all the people who have died so that we may be free
I would be interested in knowing just what freedoms you have ';experienced a drastic cut'; in. I can't say I've come to that conclusion in my lifetime. I don't feel in the slightest ';enslaved'; or ';dependant'; on the state, or the union, for that matter. If you are talking about taxes.....yes, inevitable. If you are talking about seat belts, speed laws, bicycle helmuts, building permits (codes, standards), land usage, zoning, etc. you should probably consider the bigger picture and realize what a mess several billion people each doing their ';own thing'; would be. And then while you are at it, start making a list of the freedoms you DO have.....it would be a lot easier making this list if you do it sitting in a third world or communist or Middle-East country. Making that list could be ';revolutionary'; for you.
';Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose...';
Make sure you vote, think before you do, stand for what you believe in.
