My manager hired a good friend of hers and gave her certain days off. She can't work those days off, so she demanded new ones. Well, those new days off just screwed the rest of us. The whole schedule is now completely off and doesn't make any sense. I have been with this company for two years, and I get a note yesterday from the manager telling me she wants to change my days off! There are other people she could have bumped, plus with this new person getting her way everyone wants me to rebel. Changing my days off really shouldn't bother me, but now I have to rearrange my schedule for this new person! The good part is, my manager takes no for an answer. But what is the best way to turn her down without sounding like a complete jerk?I need advice about my job?
My employees have the option to come in and discuss any issues. I wouldn't mind if you came in and said exactly what you just wrote down. Your boss needs to know she has created a problem in the office with her decisions regarding this new employee. Don't keep going home with this on your mind every night. Go in, say what you feel in a calm manner. Don't point fingers, just voice your concerns. Be tactful. I bet it will turn out better than you think. If not, at least you know where you stand in the pecking order.I need advice about my job?
Tough one. Just be up front and honest with her like you were in your question, and she should be understanding. I began to hate the politics, myself, in the public schools, so I started my home business. If you are interested in trying THAT route as a solution, check out my profile.
